Brando, Moon & Mel : three mastins in need

december, 2011

Here you can see Brandon, Moon and Mel, the three mastins rescued. When the people who were planning on saving the dogs went to rescue one of them, they noticed a female mastin they called Moon, living -so to speak- in worse conditions than they thought, also chained, hugely skinny, with only rotten water at reach, no food at all and surrrounded by her own feces. Her legs were oddily shaped, probably caused by lack of use... she didn't know how to walk, they had to help her by using two leashes.

Once they had her in the car, they saw by the highway yet another dog, also chained and with a rusty old and broken container as his only shelter. This one they called Brando. He was terrified, so they got very slowly close to him, but even this friendly approach caused him to pee, he started to turn around the chain strongly convinced they were going to hit him, poor thing. All the others had had the same reaction. But after a while, he must have seen they were not going to harm him and he finaly let they get him.

We think none of them have ever been running lose... you just have to look at the pics to have a slight idea what their live has been until they found them.

For Mel, Brandon and Moon we have managed to find a place, our shelter, but the costs of the vet cares and the transport fees for such a big animals are way over our possibilities.Unfortunately, no matter how hard we tried, it was too late for Moon... she didn't make it and left us a few days ago

We want to thank ALAS people which are not only helping with finding places for all of them but because they have already collected money from their friends, who we thank a lot too, to face part of these expenses, and to our friend Vicen, which set the alarm for these poor dogs, and to all the people which made their rescue possible

Thank you, wonderful people, for the gift of a new life to Mel, Brando and Moon

These pics were taken the day of the rescue, they show clearly enough the miserable life the 3 dogs were enduring

watch them now, at our shelter a few days after they arrived... much better, right?
